how to apply lipstick

how to apply lipstick

FOLLOW THESE FOUR EASY STEPS
  1. Apply lip balm
Dot your lip with lip balm to smooth them and reduce crevices. This will help give you an even application of lipstick.
  2. Use a lip liner
Choose a color that matches your lips, not your lipstick. Before drawing a line with the lip pencil, begin by dotting it at various points along the outline of your lips. Then, drawing very lightly, use the liner to connect the dots.
  3. Apply lipstick
Pick up the lipstick and apply the color, starting at the center of the upper lip and moving outward toward one corner. Bring the lipstick back to the center and run it outward toward the other corner. Repeat with the lower lip. To fill in any missing color, dab the lipstick with your pinky, then dot the color onto your lips with the finger.
  4. Blot your lips
To blot, which will make lipstick last longer and keep it off your teeth, take a facial tissue and fold it in half. Hold it in two hands, with the fold facing you, then bring it between your lips and press your lips together gently. Release. To make lipstick last even longer, dust a little powder on the tissue before blotting.

Tip: Avoid deep reds if you have thin lips. They tend to make lips look smaller.

how to tie a bow tie

how to tie a bow tie

FOLLOW THESE SIX EASY STEPS
  1. Drape bow tie around your neck
With your collar upturned, place the tie around your neck so the ends hang down, one end resting about an inch lower than the other.
  2. Cross the long side over
Bring the long side over the short side and clasp it near the front of your neck, where the two pieces intersect.
  3. Loop long side underneath the crossover and up to chin
Feed the long end up and under the loop created by the crossover, toward your chin, creating a single knot.

Tip: Place the long end over your shoulder to keep it out of the way while you set to work on the shorter end.
  4. Use the shorter end and make a bow form
Grasping the short end, create the first loop of your bow, holding it horizontal at the front of your neck so it looks like a bow tie missing the center knot. Clasp the bow form loosely where the knot will be, keeping a finger behind the knot as a placeholder for the final step.
  5. Drape the long end over the top
Take the long end and drop it straight down over the front of your bow. This will become the middle of your bow tie.
  6. Loop the long end through the place held by your finger
Grasping the long end by the bottom, start forming it into a loop as you swing it behind the existing bow form where you’re clasping the layers together. Work this loop through the slot in between the bow and the knot at the back (this slot is the placeholder you created in Step 4). You should now have a bow tie. Adjust the positioning of the ends until you’re satisfied with the look.

How To Look Skinny in Pictures

1. Ideally, a pencil skirt should hit just at the top of your knee. Any lower and it will start to shorten your leg.

2. Everyday bras should be replaced every three to six months, as that’s when they start to lose elasticity and support.

3. “Marquise ring shapes help to create the illusion of longer, more slender fingers, even on small wide hands. Pear or oval stones are also flattering.”
